How My Fees Work

Clear, Fair, and Stress Free Pricing
Probate is stressful enough — your attorney’s fees shouldn’t add to that stress. I offer clear, flat-fee pricing for most probate cases, so you’ll know the total cost up front. No hourly billing for standard probate services. No surprise invoices. Just straightforward, professional help.

Flat-Fee Pricing for Most Cases

I charge a flat fee for nearly all probate matters. The amount depends on the type of administration (summary vs. formal), complexity of the estate, and your specific goals. You’ll receive a clear quote during your free consultation.

What the Fee Covers

My flat fees are designed to cover all essential services, so you’re not nickel-and-dimed along the way. Essential services include:

  • Initial consultation
  • Preparation and filing of all standard court paperwork
  • Communication with the court and other parties
  • Guidance on creditor claims
  • Help distributing assets and closing the estate
  • Regular updates and unlimited communication

Are There Other Costs?

Yes, every probate case includes some additional expenses — called “costs” — that are paid to third parties, not me. Typical examples include:

  • Court filing fee (usually $250–$400)
  • Publication of notice to creditors (usually $100–$150)
  • Copies, Printing, and Mailing costs (usually $20–$50)
  • Other filing fees (usually $25–$50)

These are billed separately and I’ll explain all expected costs before we file anything.

How and When You Pay

You don’t pay anything until after your free consultation and once you’re ready to move forward.

  • Before the initial filing, a cost deposit will be required (usually between $250 and $600 depending on the type of probate and circumstances)
  • If there are cash assets in the estate: I do not require an immediate retainer. Instead, you will deposit the retainer once you are appointed as Personal Representative and have access to the estate funds. This way, you do not have to pay my fee out of pocket.
  • If there are no cash assets in the estate: I will require my retainer prior to the initial probate filing to ensure payment.
  • Forms of payment accepted:
    • Credit Cards
    • Debit Cards
    • e-Check – preferred after the estate account is opened
    • Mailed Check
    • I DO NOT ACCEPT CASH PAYMENTS
  • Payment plans may be available in some cases

Why Clients Appreciate Flat Fees

  • No surprise bills
  • Budget-friendly
  • Predictable — even if the case takes longer
  • Focus stays on solving the problem, not tracking time

Why Clients Choose Me

Choosing the right probate attorney matters. Here’s why my clients trust me to handle their probate case:

Most of my clients live outside Florida. I make it easy to handle everything from home. No travel. No courthouse. Everything is handled by phone, Zoom, e-mail, e-signature, and secure portal.

I have been successfully administering Florida probate cases for more than 12 years. Importantly, I don’t dabble. I focus almost exclusively on Florida probate cases. Over the years, I have built the knowledge base, skills, and relationships necessary to handle any situation that may arise as part of a probate case.

No hourly billing for ordinary probate matters. You’ll know the full cost up front — no surprises.

You’ll work directly with me — not a call center, paralegal, or associate attorney. The virtual nature of my practice allows me to take fewer cases and dedicate more time and attention to each client.
